The University now invites application for the Research Project “Cultural Exchanges in the Cold War: Visiting Tours and Affective Connections in Sinophone Asia (1950s-1980s) ”, funded by the Research Grants Council:

 

Research Assistant (Full-time / Part-time) – Department of Social Science
(Ref: RA (SSC-UGC/FDS14/H08/21) 2021-10-29)

Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible for the archival research, in-depth interviews, and database management of the abovementioned project. 

 

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a bachelor’s degree or above preferably in cultural studies (cultural history, cultural anthropology, cultural sociology, cultural geography, and literary and media culture) or other disciplines in social science and humanities;
  • have a good command of English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • have good organisational and communication skills;
  • be familiar with Microsoft Office software, Chinese word processing, and other computer skills;
  • be able to work independently; and
  • have a passion for conducting academic research on Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
