The University now invites application for the Research Project “Early detection of cyberbullying incidents in Chinese-English code-mixed language with targeted emotional colloquial slang phrases: a transfer learning approach”, funded by the Research Grants Council:

Responsibilities

This research project aims to investigate a machine learning cyberbullying detection system on mixed-code (Chinese-English) context.

The appointee will carry out a series of research-related processes including literature review, data collection, data cleaning, algorithm design, program coding, performance evaluation on simulated/real data, report writing and result presentation.

 

Applicants Should
  • an undergraduate / postgraduate students studying in Psychology / Chinese / English / Translation / Machine Learning area;
  • possess good Python programming skills is preferable;
  • have good communication, writing and interpersonal skills; and
  • be a responsible person with an interest in natural language processing and/or cyberbullying detection.
