Senior Research Assistant (AI Specialist) / Research Assistant (AI Engineer) – Department of Computer Science

This research project aims to investigate algorithmic trading and their evaluation. Team will participate in the research and prototype development to enhance cutting-edge algorithmic trading for execution.
Responsibilities:
- to deliver substantial results and contribute to academic publications by leveraging the industrial grade software and hardware resources (e.g. data source, specialised trading platform, cloud resources, professional consultation service); and
- carry out a series of research related processes including literature review, data collection, data cleaning, algorithm design, program coding, performance evaluation on simulated/real data, report writing and result presentation.
- Senior Research Assistant (AI Specialist)
- possess a recognised bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree with a strong computing, mathematical or statistical focus, with at least 3 years of work experience;
- possess a strong Python programming skills and experience using ML-related libraries;
- have a clear understanding of ML algorithms and their applications; and
- have good communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
- Research Assistant (AI Engineer)
- possess a recognised bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject;
- have experience in at least one programming language such as Python;
- have knowledge in financial modelling; and
- have a good communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
Relevant work experience will be an advantage. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
