Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Insurance - Assistant Professor (Full-time)

- teach risk analytics-related and data science-related modules including but not limited to “Derivatives Valuations”, “Statistical Inference”, “Machine Learning”, “Data Mining” and “Risk Analysis”;
- liaise with the industry and organise professional talks/events on the latest development, applications, and job prospects on data science and risk analysis to both undergraduate and postgraduate students;
- publish in the leading peer-reviewed journals in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Analytics or related areas; and
- engage in research, scholarly and administration activities.
- possess a doctoral degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Analytics or related disciplines;
- have an excellent research record and published in the leading peer-reviewed journals in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Analytics or related areas;
- have teaching experience at the tertiary level, preferably in Derivatives Valuations, Statistical Inference, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Risk Analysis, or other related modules; and
- preferably have some prior industry experience.
Appointees are expected to assume duty in January 2025 or August 2025. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
