The University now invites application for the Research Project “Multiple Change-point Detection in Spatio-temporal Gaussian Random Fields under Spatial Fixed-domain and Mixed-domain Asymptotic Frameworks”, funded by the Research Grants Council:

Postdoctoral Fellow (Full-time) – Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Insurance

Responsibilities

The appointee will assist the project leader in conducting research in the field of statistics.  Research duties include, but are not limited to, literature review, model building, theoretical development, statistical programming, and conducting simulation studies.

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a doctoral degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines;
  • have a thorough understanding of theoretical statistics, probability theory, time series analysis, spatial statistics, and statistical simulation;
  • have a proven track-record of theoretical research in change-point analysis;
  • be excellent in programming languages such as R;
  • have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and
  • be able to work independently.
