School of Communication - Professor

Responsibilities

The School seeks an outstanding candidate to assume a leading and inspiring role in the research activities of the School of Communication. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Research Leadership: Lead innovative research initiatives and cultivate a dynamic research culture within the School, promoting collaboration among faculty and students.
  • Grant Acquisition: Actively pursue competitive and matching research grants to support groundbreaking projects and enhance the School's research profile.
  • Publication and Networking: Identify and pursue publication opportunities in reputable journals, while engaging in scholarly networking to elevate the visibility of the School’s research outputs.
  • Mentorship: Provide research mentorship to junior faculty and emerging scholars, offering guidance on research methodologies, publication strategies, and professional development.
  • Knowledge Advancement: Contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the application of AI within journalism, public relations, convergent media, and communication technology through innovative research and curriculum development.
  • Program Development: Assist in the enhancement of existing undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as the creation of new academic offerings.

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a Doctoral Degree in a related discipline;
  • demonstrate a strong scholarly publication and competitive grant record, preferably in the application of AI within journalism, public relations, convergent media, and / or other related disciplines of social sciences and business;
  • have extensive experience in the development, leadership, and management of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes;
  • possess a robust international academic network, evidenced by roles such as editorship in reputable scholarly journals, leadership positions in academic organisations, and / or authorship of influential academic works; and
  • exhibit a proven track record in teaching, student coaching and academic administration.
