Graduate School - Assistant Manager (Admission)

Responsibilities
  • to oversee the end-to-end admission process for HSUHK’s postgraduate programmes, from application review, vetting, to granting admission offer, ensuring adherence to university policies, regulations and deadlines;
  • to work with academic units, programme directors, and programme officers to ensure a quality and efficient admission process for applicants of postgraduate programmes;
  • to work closely with academic departments, faculty members, and other stakeholders to streamline admission procedures and enhance the overall student experience;
  • to utilise data analytics to track key admission metrics, identify trends, and generate reports to support decision-making and process improvement;
  • to assist in the development and implementation of admission policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with the university's strategic objectives;
  • to serve as a point of contact for prospective students, addressing inquiries, providing guidance on the application process, and ensuring a high level of customer service;
  • to conduct training sessions for admission staff and TPG programme officers on best practices, university policies, and updates in the field of postgraduate admissions; and
  • to assist the manager to provide secretarial support to the Graduate Studies Committee.

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience;
  • have experience in handling admissions-related matters and in workflow automation;
  • have relevant administrative experience with competence in committee work will be advantageous;
  • possess knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in higher education admissions;
  • be proficient in data analysis and report generation, with knowledge of IT applications will be a definite advantage;
  • have good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • have effective administrative abilities and strong organisational, coordination and problem-solving skills; and
  • demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
