School of Communication - Senior School Manager
(Ref: SSchM (SCOM) 2025-08-08)

Responsibilities
  • assist the School Dean in the strategic planning of the School, and consolidating research and grant matters;
  • serve as a key administrator in the School;
  • participate in the preparation, revisions of annual budgets, and monitor the budget status throughout the academic year;
  • monitor the progress of the School’s academic development;
  • oversee the administration of academic programmes in the School and supervise junior administrative staff;
  • provide support in various accreditation and re-accreditation exercises and the development of postgraduate programmes, including preparation of discipline review documents, application for PAA, programme accreditation documents for local and external accreditation agencies to HKCAAVQ, etc.;
  • provide secretariat support to various committees of the School and follow up the resolutions made by the committees;
  • organise and coordinate School-wide academic activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops,  field trips, internships and academic exchanges etc.; and
  • coordinate the School administration with other Schools / Departments / Offices, and work closely with other academic divisions and teams to support the University’s strategy.

 

 

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a recognised bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably with a master’s degree;
  • have solid administrative and supervisory experience, preferably in tertiary institutions;
  • have a high level of competency in committee work and writing reports; 
  • have excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • be well-organised, able to work under pressure and have multi-task capability.

Work experience in the tertiary education sector will be an advantage. Applicants with less experience will be considered as School Manager.
