The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is a non-profit private liberal-arts-oriented university with six Schools (Business, Communication, Decision Sciences, Humanities and Social Science, Translation and Foreign Languages, and Transdisciplinary Studies), and over 6,700 full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students. Responsibilities

The Position

As HSUHK’s chief academic and executive officer, the President drives the University’s strategic growth and mission, guiding its academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact.  Leading the Provost and Vice-Presidents, the President champions HSUHK’s position as a leading liberal-arts institution in the Region.


Major responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Shape and execute the University's long-term vision and development plans.
  • Academic Excellence: Promote high standards in teaching, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Institutional Advancement: Strengthen HSUHK’s reputation regionally and globally through innovation and impact.
  • Financial Stewardship: Oversee resource allocation, infrastructure development, and financial sustainability.
  • Global Engagement: Expand international partnerships and foster a multicultural campus environment.
  • Fundraising & Outreach: Cultivate donor relations, alumni engagement, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Inclusive Governance: Lead with transparency, shared decision-making, and effective communication across the University community.

  • Multi-cultural and Global Thinker: Experienced in leading diverse academic communities and cultivating inclusive campus culture; well-connected through international networks with demonstrated capacity to expand global partnerships and student mobility initiatives.
  • Fundraising and Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in fundraising, donor relations, and alumni engagement to advance scholarships, research, and campus development; adept at representing HSUHK to government, industry, and community stakeholders; experienced in branding and marketing initiatives to enhance institutional visibility and reputation.
