The University now invites application for the following position to work in the Research Project “The Development of Hong Kong Cantonese Playwriting (1910s-1990s)”:

Part-time Research Assistant – Department of Chinese
(Ref: PTRA (CHI – UGC/FDS14/H05/25) 2026-06-12)

Responsibilities
  • collect data and materials on Cantonese script writing from relevant libraries and institutions in Hong Kong;
  • assist with two staged readings and a symposium on Cantonese script writing;
  • conduct comprehensive literature reviews on Hong Kong theatre (1910s to 1990s);
  • assist in monograph editing; and
  • coordinate with project team members and support project-related logistics.

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a recognised bachelor's degree in Literature, Theatre Studies, Digital Humanities or a related field;
  • be proficient in written and spoken Cantonese and English; and
  • have a genuine interest in Hong Kong theatre studies.
