Student Affairs Office - Student Affairs Officer

Responsibilities
  • proactively develop and implement the key residential life education programmes and initiatives of the Residential Colleges System in HSUHK;
  • collaborate with the Residential College Masters, Associate Masters, Resident Tutors and student bodies in designing and offering residential curriculum, thematic courses and co-curricular activities;
  • proactively engage the patrons and board members of the Residential Colleges;
  • maintain close contact with students through outreaching efforts and guidance;
  • assist in handling emergency situations, critical incidents and student conduct matters;
  • support the administration, assessment and development of the Residential Colleges System;
  • provide secretarial support to different committees and working groups; and
  • assist in admission exercises and facilities management of the Residential Colleges on need basis.

 

Applicants Should
  • possess a recognised bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in student development and/or student housing management;
  • have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese);
  • have strong coordination, analytical and interpersonal skills; and
  • have a strong interest in working with young people and community development.

Appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and undertake live-in duties in the Residential Colleges, when operationally required. Applicants with work experience in the tertiary education sector will be an advantage.
